RES and battery recovery plan

Subsidies

support for the construction of new renewable electricity generation facilities and battery systems

Allocation: EUR 30 million

Amount of aid: max. EUR 2.5 million / projects

Aid intensity: max. 45 %

Deadline for submission: 15 July 2025

Completion of project implementation: by 30 June 2026 at the latest

Sustainability of results: min. until 31 December 2031

Supported activities (RES + battery combination is REQUIRED):

  • The project must include both parts:
  • New equipment for electricity production from RES
  • New battery system (for electricity storage), connected upstream of the RES transfer point

Conditions for approval of the application:

  • Reserved capacity in the distribution/transmission system
  • Relevant permitting documents – e.g. building permit, notification of notification, certificate of non-subjection to permitting procedure
  • Completed procurement / tendering
  • A contract with the supplier or a purchase order must be in place at the time of application (after evaluation of tenders)
  • Work can only start after the call for tenders – the contract must not be in force before

Technical eligibility conditions:

Renewable energy installations:
Capacity: 0.5 MW – 5 MW (inclusive)
Can only be one installation or system at one connection point
One project = one type of technology (e.g. PV only, not a combination of PV and biogas)
Must be connected to the distribution or transmission system in the Slovak Republic

Battery system:
Min. capacity: 0.05 MW (50 kW)
Min. capacity: 0.1 MWh (100 kWh)
Capacity ≥ capacity
Battery capacity must not exceed the capacity of the RES device
Battery must be able to take at least 75% of the energy from the RES device
Connection upstream of the transfer point and on the manufacturer’s side

PROCEDURE FOR SUCCESSFUL APPLICATION TO THE CALL ( OZE + BATTERY)

(Prepared by SMINN)

STEP 1: Eligibility Verification.

  • Are you a micro, small or medium-sized enterprise or do you operate under a trade license?
  • Are you planning to build a new photovoltaic power source together with a battery system?
👉 If so, you may proceed.

STEP 2: Preparation of project documentation.

Have an expert prepare project documentation that includes:

  • design of technical solution for photovoltaic electricity source
  • compliance with technical conditions:
    • Photovoltaic capacity: 0.5 to 5 MW
    • battery power: min. 50 kW
    • Battery capacity: min. 100 kWh
    • the battery must be connected directly to the PV plant before the grid connection point
    • at least 75% of the energy in the battery must come from the PV system itself

STEP 3: Obtaining the necessary permits.

  • Building permit or other relevant document (notification, statement of the authority...)
  • Reserving capacity on the distribution or transmission system

STEP 4: Procurement.

  • you must have a signed contract with the supplier, or at least a completed public procurement with the result
🔔 NB: The procurement may not be launched before the call for tenders has been issued.

👉 As a first step, you will need a technical specification. If you don't have one, contact SMINN - we can help you prepare one.

STEP 5: Preparation of the application and mandatory annexes

Complete and upload via ISPO:

  • Application form
  • Summary of application
  • Attachments:

    • Additional data
    • Proof of reserved capacity
    • Authorisation to implement the project
    • Contract with supplier or evaluation of the public procurement
    • Budget
    • Energy audit (if applicable)
    • Affidavit of non-duplicative financing

STEP 6: Submitting the application

  • Electronically via the ISPO system
  • Deadline: by 15. 07. 2025
  • The project must be completed by 30 June 2026 at the latest

1. Cost-effectiveness of the project - the most important criterion

  • MH SR assesses how much money you are asking for in terms of how much energy the project will produce and store.
  • The lower the price per MWh, the more points.

2. Local resource - bonus points

If your photovoltaic system will be connected as a local source (according to § 4b of Act 309/2009 Coll.), you will get extra points. (max 10 points)

3. Power over 2 MW - additional bonus

If the output of your PV plant is 2 MW or more, you will receive an additional bonus. (max 5 points)
